: 21 August 2002 : More jobhunting today - handed in CVs at Wax Lyrical (candles and related oddments) and Flip (exceptionally cool clothes shop). Also got application forms from a print supplies shop and Scott's, the deli just down the road from the flat. I really want to work in Scott's. Or Flip. But Scott's is closer. In other news, I spoke today to a bloke who's running a free Men in Childcare introductory course, one evening a week starting in September. I think it'd be a good thing to do. And I've asked for an application pack to work as a peer supporter with Edinburgh Stimulant Users Services, using the training I did while I was at Oxford. To be honest I feel a lot more enthusiastic about going into the welfare sector than I do about looking for temp-slave work. Oh, talking of Oxford - I got a 2:1, which was a relief. And my extended essay on cities in American literature won a £100 prize. I officially rule.
