: 17 June 2002 : In just over nine hours, a plane will leave Heathrow with an excited boy on it. The boy is excited because he's about to spend a month touring the States (and a bit of Canada) in the company of the finest travelling companion anyone could wish for. Have I told you this before? Every time I talk about this trip it seems like the hundredth time I've enthused about it to somebody. Anyway, the itinerary is San Francisco - Ashland - Portland - Olympia - Seattle - Vancouver - Victoria - Seattle - New York - Boston - home. I'm not going to write any more because I should really go to bed, but I'll hopefully be updating occasionally during the trip. Don't know how often I'll get the chance. I watched Get Over It today. It had Kirsten Dunst in it. And someone singing "Alison" by Elvis Costello. And other stuff. It was very good. The other thing I did today was print out CVs and letters to The Scotsman and the List, telling them why they should employ me as a reviewer during the Edinburgh Fringe. Fingers crossed. Right, bed. Hope you're all well. Talk to you soon.
