I never managed to continue my description of the five-week American adventure, but rest assured that we had a wonderful time and got home unscathed. Which is the most important thing. I'm in Edinburgh now, trying to find a job. I've signed on at an employment agency, and handed in a CV today at the Levi's shop on Princes Street, and got a couple of application forms from bargain bookshops that are looking for staff. And I wrote to Canongate Books asking for work experience as an editorial assistant, so hopefully I'll hear from them soon.
